This is the East Oriental/ Meiser's Mill covered bridge east of Oriental mostly in Snyder County Pennsylvania....It is on private land but many think that the Snyder County Historical Society is letting history slip by the wayside...Carol Hoffman never got a deed of abandonment from our great state when they didn't want the road or bridge anymore. ... Carol wants to restore the bridge but needs help. The state should save this bridge as part of our Pennsylvania history. Our great state is restoring most of the covered bridges in the state but none on private property...They can't understand that Carol Hoffman does not want this bridge but wants to turn it over to the state...She is paying taxes on something that the state really owns but does not want to admit it. PennDot throws money around like it's going out of style but none her way...There is also a Mill on the property which has historical value.Pennsylvania has crooked politicians... JUST RECEIVED A LETTER FROM SANDRA TOSCA P.E. PENNDOT ON AUGUST 20, 2008. IT STATED THAT THE STATE NEVER TURNED THE RIGHT OF WAY AND THE BRIDGE OVER TO THE PROPERTY OWNER...
